The Problem:

Decades of Corporate Culture Have Normed and Deformed our Human Skills.

That’s why, we wonder what if Talents & Leaders…

Our Approach: Transforming Talents & Leaders into Drag Queens

"Looking at yourself in the mirror and not recognizing yourself anymore is an extremely liberating and powerful feeling that makes different behaviors possible."

Betty Business, Host of Drag Queen for a Day

Breaking Talents & Leaders free from their roles helps to:

  • Corporate office floors reinforce existing patterns. They are rarely spaces for radical questioning, creativity and experimentation when it comes to human skills needed in the AI era.

As Drag Queens participants can freely explore roles, skills and behaviors what is usually quite limited such as curiosity, creativity, social influence, and resilience.

  • Many talents lack the confidence to take space and be visible in large organisations.

Drag is inherently empowering. Its history is deeply rooted in enabling queer people to confidently celebrate and express their full identity.

Drag Queen for a Day provides a safe training space for talentsto practise courage, take risks, and step into visibility.

  • Corporate trainings are often heavily based on self-paced online learnings, neglecting the body and groups as learning resources.

Drag Queen for a Day is an immersive and embodied group experience participants will never forget. It creates connection and employs tools that are directly applicable in the business context.

We meet in a club with a stage, microphones and show effects.

Curiosity

Resilience Amid Uncertainty

  • Club lights, artificial fog, music and Labor 5’s rough industrial atmosphere remove our participants from their office reality and create psychological distance from everyday roles and expectations. In that distance, new behaviours and expressions become possible.

Clubs are spaces that temporarily suspend everyday expectations, roles and hierarchies. For queer people in particular, clubs are safer spaces for identity exploration in a society that often polices or erases queer expression. In these spaces, queer people try out identities and expressions and collectively establish their own culture, without having to justify themselves or be judged against societal norms.

In Drag Queen for a Day, we leverage this mental space of freedom. We define our own rules and expectations for the day and uphold them consistently in our facilitation so that everyone can feel safer and empowered to courageously explore and experiment.

We actively integrate the clubs’ infrastructure like the dancefloor or the stage into our exercises. In our pilot run, for some of the participants, this was the first time that they experienced being on a stage and holding a microphone while standing in spotlights.

We ask our participants to design their own drag character.

Human Branding

  • Unlike acting, drag is not about playing a completely different character. It is a deliberate construction of a character that in some way relates to its designer.

It is a character that is freed from what limits its designer in their everyday life and explores potential or fantasy versions of its designer.

To achieve this, our participants must deeply reflect on which parts of their regular personality and behaviour they wish to keep, and what they would love to explore that they usually cannot. They then define how those traits translate into a tangible and powerful human brand.

Especially within large organisations where visibility and sharp positioning are important, learning how to design a strong personal brand is a valuable tool that extends far beyond the drag experience.

Our drag artists transform everyone into a drag queen with makeup, wig and costume. 2h. 1:1. An intimate dialogue between business and art.

Curiosity

  • After 2h of makeup, our artists fit a wig and complete the transformation with a glamorous costume.

The participants will look at themselves in the mirror and barely recognize themselves.

In our pilot run, this was a magic moment.

    People started to behave differently.

They put aside their everyday mask. They were fascinated by their new mask and curious what they could do with it.

Our pilot run has shown that the 2h with our drag makeup artists are also a lively exchange between two very different worlds. Our participants are carefully painted by young drag artists that we select based on their makeup talent and personality.

A drag transformation is an exciting and relevant experience people from any gender, sexual orientation, age or skin tone.

We reflect in groups.

Vulnerability

Resilience Amid Uncertainty

  • It is important to us that Drag Queen for a Day is not just about looks and costumes. The costume is a productive tool. It lowers inhibition and by that fosters open and vulnerable conversations.

In the group, we reflect on the performativity of roles, hierarchies, and behaviors. We explore factors that negatively influence performance, such as shame, as well as those that support it, such as the feeling of love.

In this setting, participants and hosts meet on equal footing. Everyone is both student and teacher. Everyone is an empathetic listener. Everyone is a courageous, vulnerable contributor of perspectives, experiences and feedback.

Our participants embody their drag character.

Curiosity

  • Under the weight of the wig, drag lashes, makeup, and costume, participants’ regular movement patterns, gestures, and postures are naturally disrupted.

As participants adapt, the body begins sensing: what feels good and what doesn’t?

We prompt participants to explore extremes within the safety of the workshop. By pushing movement, posture and gesture to the maximum, participants can sense physical and emotional limits. They can also directly observe how others respond.

Only once these extremes have been embodied and felt, are participants able to intentionally integrate them into their behavioral repertoire. Toning things down in everyday life becomes possible because the body now knows the full range.

We work with the drag character.

Leadership & Social Influence

  • Acting through the embodied drag character, participants feel safer being bold, trying new behaviors (e.g., taking space), and saying things they would usually hold back. The logic behind this is simple: If something fails, it is the drag character that fails and not the participant’s everyday professional identity.

    Potential exercises:

    • Short presentations

    • Co-creation of an idea

Working in groups allows participants to directly sense their peers’ reactions, reactions that are often far more positive than expected.

Last but not least: We have fun. We celebrate each other. We celebrate being courageous.

Leadership & Social Influence

  • These days, pressure is constant.

Especially in times like these, having fun and not taking everything, including ourselves, too seriously is important.

In Drag Queen for a Day, we have fun while not forgetting about business relevance and depth.

We experiment and observe how others respond.

We give feedback, feedback that comes from a place of love and warmth.

We celebrate leaving the comfort zone, showing courage, and stepping into the role of a drag queen for one day. This helps anchor the experiences and reflections in the long term.

Every participant receives a personalized certificate at the end.

If you would like this special moment to be professionally captured for your talents and leaders, we are happy to include our photographer, Livia Eichenberger, in the offer. Livia took all pictures that are published on this landing page.
